Account Alarm is a governor-approved alarm monitoring center that watches alarm signals from homes and businesses 24/7. It needed a site where both subscribers and dealers could get to know the center and reach it easily.
For most people, an alarm monitoring center is an abstract idea: What exactly happens when the alarm goes off, who sees the signal, who calls the police? Account Alarm needed to answer these questions in plain language.
The site would be used by two different audiences: home and business owners considering a subscription for their security, and security companies that want to become Account Alarm dealers. Both had to find what they were looking for quickly.
We built the home page around the incidents the center responds to, and explained how the system works step by step on a separate page. We moved the entry points and forms for dealers and subscribers to the most visible spots on the site.
The home page opens with the incidents the center monitors, such as burglary, medical emergencies, fire, gas leaks and flooding. Right after, smart home, security, remote support and one-touch emergency response services are listed with short descriptions.
The “How the system works” page explains, in a question-and-answer format, what an alarm center is, how the signal reaches the center and what services the center provides. The Documents page holds the subscriber agreement, the alarm monitoring competence certificate and the mobile app; dealership applications are made through a short form.
In the visual language, we built a trustworthy interface in corporate blue, navy and warning orange, with Barlow Condensed for headings. The call center number sits at the top of every page.
